Bad, bad economic indicators

Not surprisingly, economic data for September was mostly bearish. The manufacturing sector continues to win the award for weakest sector. Jobless claims figures are also showing signs of worsening. The housing market did deteriorate moderately in September, but remains among the strongest sectors of the economy. Wage inflation is stable, but benefit costs accelerated in the third quarter.
