The Bottom Line

As International Perspective is published, the Group of Seven (or eight) is meeting in Evian, France. These meetings have been criticized of late as being no more than a splashy photo-op. Nevertheless, analysts do pay attention to the utterances of the world's leaders. Once held to discuss purely economic matters, the agendas have widened over the years to take in virtually anything on a leader's mind. This one is no different, especially as the healing process begins between the U.S. and its allies over the Iraqi war.

Investors will have a heavy dose of economic data to absorb this week along with the results of the central bank meetings. The outcomes could affect currency values everywhere.
