Geopolitical events will continue to dominate the news in the short term, as new deadlines approach for reports to the UN Security Council. These events will weigh on investors everywhere, especially in a week with few economic indicators to distract them. The Bank of Japan meets at week's end. The Bank probably is on hold awaiting the appointment of their new leadership by the prime minister, which is expected in the next week or two. Governor Hayami and his two deputy's terms expire in mid-March.
