Next week will offer few insights into economic performance anywhere. Market participants - at least the ones not on vacation - continue to focus almost entirely on the U.S. and are ignoring lackluster data out of Japan and the eurozone. International investors look to the U.S. as a benchmark and are seeing their own fortunes rise and fall with the ups and downs of the U.S. outlook.
