As investors had expected all along, the United States continues to lead the way out of recession. There are stirrings in Europe, and Britain continues to grow despite faltering manufacturing thanks to the consumer and an incredibly strong housing market. The negatives rest in the treacherous outlook in the Middle East and with it, oil prices. And then there are worries about Japan's banking sector that could have worldwide repercussions. But the economic outlook is upbeat - now if corporate profits follow investors will be happy too.
