Economic reports were generally consistent this past week reflecting slower economic growth. The moderation in economic activity coupled with warnings of reduced earnings from various PC makers (including Gateway) led to a free fall in tech stocks - and even the Dow Jones Industrials. By Friday, investors appeared less frightened by the economic slowdown, perhaps because it is signaling potential easing on the part of the Federal Reserve, eventually.
