Dull news without Greenspan

It was a slow news week for the U.S. economy. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan told Congress Wednesday that it's too early to determine where the economy is headed. Though disinflation is likely to continue over the next several months, he stressed that the risk of deflation emerging is not high. Fed officials are alert for signs of deflation, a problem that would have very harsh consequences.
