Investors give no confidence vote

Stock prices declined as market players continue to show a lack of confidence in accounting statements and the fact that more companies are invoking Chapter 11 clauses to restructure. Economic news was friendly as productivity posted strong gains and manufacturing activity showed some signs of life.
