This week’s set of economic news was generally good showing a robust housing sector and improving manufacturing activity. Unfortunately, equity prices didn’t follow through except for a brief rally on Monday. The bond market has adjusted itself for the likelihood that the Fed will not start raising rates until later in the year. This has allowed Treasury yields, also helped by safe-haven demand, to come down further.
