| Decent economic indicators weren’t good enough to raise stock prices early in the week given the market’s stubbornly negative sentiment. Later in the week, Friday’s soggy employment report was ignored and the stock market surged with relief that the July 4th celebrations went off without a hitch. Even though Friday’s stock price action was very good, it barely made a dent in the market’s downward momentum. |
